Cruise is reprising his role in the iconic movie and wants to get in the best shape of his life for the project. To that end, he’s constructed a tent that features top-of-the-line equipment, and it travels with him. The source claims that Cruise does extreme workouts every time he has a scene. Even if he’s only appearing for brief dialogue, he still works out before coming on set.
The insider also revealed to Radar Online that Cruise’s workout tent is off limits to everyone aside from his personal trainer.
The Top Gun star spends more time in the tent than anywhere else, including his trailer and makeup room. Cruise is clearly determined to stay in top shape for the role and is going to extreme measures to accomplish it.
Cruise has a reputation in Hollywood for doing his own stunts and his newest movie is no exception. In fact, sources claimed a few months ago that Cruise wanted to fly the Navy fighter jets in the movie, which pushed production back.
Insiders now say that is not the case, as civilians are not allowed to fly military planes. But the actor, who is a licensed pilot, is set to fly other planes in the highly anticipated sequel.

Top Gun: Maverick is set 30 years after the original movie. Cruise’s Maverick is now an instructor at the flight school and will be mentoring Goose’s son.
Val Kilmer is expected to appear as Iceman, along with a star-studded cast. This includes Jon Hamm, Jennifer Connelly, and Ed Harris.
Tom Cruise will bring Maverick back to theaters in the summer of 2020.
