Todd Chrisley And Wife Julie Indicted for Tax Evasion – Chrisley Knows Best Stars Claim Innocence
Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie have been indicted for tax evasion and other financial crimes by a federal grand jury in Atlanta.
The Chrisley Knows Best stars are in some serious legal trouble. Todd is claiming they are both innocent of all crimes they are accused of committing.
E! News has confirmed the Chrisley’s, along with their accountant, Peter Tarantino, have been indicted by a federal grand jury. Various crimes are pending against all three, including conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, tax evasion and aiding the filing of false tax returns.
Court documents obtained by TMZ declare the reality TV couple defrauded banks by fraudulently securing millions of dollars’ worth of loans. The U.S. Attorney’s Office also believes Todd and Julie knowingly cheated taxpayers by actively evading federal taxes. Prosecutors believe the couple ran a scheme from 2007 to 2011 to fund their extravagant lifestyle.

Todd warned fans via Instagram yesterday that some members of his family could be indicted for alleged financial crimes this week. The reality TV star maintained his innocence by ensuring fans no one in the Chrisley family had anything to hide.
The post included a lengthy note telling how Todd and Julie discovered in 2012 that a trusted employee had been stealing from the family for years.
“I’ve never talked about this publicly before, but there’s been a cloud hanging over Julie and me and our entire family for the past seven years. It all started back in 2012 when we discovered that a trusted employee of ours had been stealing from us big time,” he began his note.
Although Todd did not go into specific details of the betrayal, he maintains the family is innocent. He also made it clear they have evidence to back up his claims.
“Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that proves it. Anyway, when all is said and done, we trust in God,” he said in a message.
Not long after Todd opened up on social media two of the Chrisley children, Chase and Savannah sang his praises. They both used the comments section to thank Todd for being a wonderful, honest father. Each Chrisley child reiterated the truth would come out and innocence would prevail.
Julie and Todd Chrisley have been indicted on several federal financial crimes. The Chrisley Knows Best stars have not spoken out since the official charges were filed but did previously warn fans a legal battle was coming.
