We have learned that Tina Fey, as well as the others co-creators of the Broadway musical adaptation of the 2004 Mean Girls, have decided to snub the main star of the original production – Lindsay Lohan. According to an insider, inviting the actress to the premiere ‘would be a distraction.’
It is safe to say that Lohan has been through a lot since the premiere of the cult classic teen movie.
Tina Fey was the one who wrote the successful Mean Girls and is also the one who decided to give it new life by creating a stage musical version.
One source told us that ‘Tina and the other Broadway musical creators did not invite Lindsay to the opening night show or after party. Having Lindsay attend would be a distraction, and you never know what she’s going to do. They want the focus to be on the great new musical they’ve created and not all the drama that surrounds Lohan.’
‘Plus, they have an opening bar at the after party, and that could get messy,’ the insider added, referring to the troubled actress’ drinking issues.
Since starring in films such as Freaky Friday and Mean Girls as a teen, Lindsay Lohan, now 31 years old, has faced a number of both personal and legal problems.
Although the star has been attempting to get her acting career back on track, she hasn’t been successful.
And now, to make her humiliation even worse, Lindsay is not welcome to the musical’s debut.
However, ‘Lindsay will be invited to see the show at some point in the future. She can see a regular performance when Tina and the press are not attending.’
