Tiffany Haddish’s star has been rising rather quickly over the past two years. After her notable role in comedic film Girl’s Trip, she’s landed on the scene with hilarity, the gift of gab and a fun personality. She even released a book called The Last Black Unicorn that has been well received and is a best seller. In that book, she talks very candidly about the struggles she has had to overcome early on in her life.
In one admission she speaks about suffering from domestic violence and physical abuse at the hands of her ex-husband.
Now, her ex, William Stewart, is denying those allegations and is even going a step further by suing both her and Simon & Schuster, the publishers of the book.
Despite never mentioning Stewart by name, it was clear whom she was referring to in the book since this was the relationship in which they got married and divorced not once, but twice.
Stewart claims that prior to filing an official suit, his attorney sent numerous letter on his behave to “resolve” the “harmful and defamatory” accusations in the book.
Given the fact that the book has been out for quite some time, any type of resolution would likely be involving some type of payout to Stewart.
Stewart is also claiming that back in 2012, Haddish was interviewed about her unhealthy and toxic marriage where she says that her husband “never beat” her but would “choke” her a little bit.
This leads to Stewart claiming that part of their sexual dynamic did include him choking her while they were intimate but only because she enjoyed elements of rougher and aggressive sex.
He claims he was in no way physically abusive or violent towards her.
Haddish has not publically responded to this lawsuit or these claims and the case is still ongoing.
