The outspoken comedian and actress was not afraid to slam the president. While in attendance at Variety’s ‘Power of Women’ event earlier today, Tiffany Haddish talked to HollywoodLife about her voting plans in the midterm elections and in the future.
She also slammed Donald Trump for being spooky and compared his presidency to a ‘scary movie.’
‘It’s a scary time for humans. Donald Trump’s in office, guys. It’s like a scary movie, right?’ she told the outlet.
Obviously, the funny woman tried to keep things lighthearted, but that doesn’t mean she is not just as scared as most women amid Trump’s administration and the backlash surrounding the #MeToo movement.
‘You don’t know what’s going to happen. I am just looking forward to finding out what happens! And I got my safe room, so.’
Tiffany made it very clear that she will be voting both during the midterm on November 4 as well as in the presidential elections two years from now.
‘But we still got to keep the same president, so….for two more years,’ she noted.
During her speech at the venue, the star was just as open as during the interview with HL.
She explained: ‘Sorry I am so honest, but I am not sorry. I feel like it is really important to always be your best self and to be yourself, and try not to be something you aren’t. Because that is when you become a bitter-a** b**ch when you being somebody you not.’
The woman went on to relate that to the children that she works with at The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company.
The initiative offers programs such as a theatre residency as well as playwriting workshops.
‘These kids, you can tell, they are probably not allowed to talk at home, they are probably not allowed to be their true selves. And in this environment, they were finally allowed to experiment, to just be characters, to also be themselves, tell their stories, to share their experiences, and then we are in a safe space,’ she told her audience while on stage.
