Fans have been wondering how The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will crossover with Riverdale, and we may finally have an answer. Riverdale has avoided the supernatural in its first two seasons, but that all changed with the introduction of the Gargoyle King in Season 3. We still do not know a lot about the Gargoyle King, but there is a good possibility that Riverdale’s newest mystery villain will lead to an epic crossover with Sabrina.
The latest installment of Riverdale revealed that the group’s parents were the first to find and play Griffins and Gargoyles. Alice Cooper explained how she discovered the game in the principal’s office, but nobody knows who made it. They stopped playing the game when the principal died from poisoning.

The Gargoyle King’s identity has not been revealed, but it is possible the character is working with the Dark Lord from Sabrina. This would help explain why The Gargoyle King seems to have supernatural powers and is a great way to connect the shows.
Riverdale and Sabrina share many similarities. Apart from having the same showrunner in Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa – who has teased a potential crossover – the shows are set in the same universe.
Sabrina takes place in Greendale, which is only a few miles away from the fictional town of Riverdale. The shows also explore similar themes.
According to Screen Rant, the villains in Riverdale and Sabrina target innocent and young people and attempt to draw them to the dark side.

For the Gargoyle King, this comes in the form of brainwashing high schoolers to commit suicide. It is anyone’s guess if the character is connected to the Dark Lord, but it is definitely a possibility.
Sabrina did not feature a crossover event in its debut season, but Netflix just announced that the show will be releasing a holiday special. Here’s to hoping the crossover happens just in time for the holiday season.
Season 3 of Riverdale airs Wednesday nights on the CW.
