'The Voice' Recap Season 13 Premiere, Blind Auditions Part 2, Four Chair Turn Around
The second part of the blind auditions of The Voice season 13 premiere, aired on NBC on Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The panel of four judges, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton continued listening to the auditions and added to their teams. Here is a recap of the Voice focusing on those who made it through the blind auditions to the next round.
Some interesting information was discerned during The Voice episode 2.
First and foremost, we learned that Jennifer Hudson can coach a contestant on the spot and improve his or her singing ability in under two minutes.
Second, we discovered that Miley Cyrus intends to win The Voice with a country music artist. Blake has his hands full because Miley has returned to her country roots and she isn't going to let America forget it.
First up was 30-year-old Keisha Renee. She is from Inglewood, California and sang "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Don Gibson. Jennifer, Miley, Adam, and Blake turned their chairs, making it the only four-chair turn of the night. but Ultimately, Keisha picked Blake.
Twenty-eight-year-old Dylan Gerard caught the attention of Jennifer and Adam with his rendition of "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur. Jennifer quickly suggested Dylan sing in a different key and the change was stunning. Miley commented on how much he had improved and it seemed that he would pick Jennifer.
Ultimately, Dylan chose Adam who suggested that though Jennifer's coaching tips were effective, he was a male and knew more about what was the right way to approach male singing.
Following Dylan was 27-year-old Maharasyi from Los Angeles, California. Maharasyi sang "Tell Me Something Good" by Chaka Khan. The song caused Jennifer and Miley to turn their chairs. Straight after giving Dylan some free coaching advice, Jennifer did the same with Maharasyi.
Jennifer noticed that Maharasyi wasn't giving it her all and helped her sing a high note she had found intimidating. Though Miley had wanted her, Maharasyi went with Jennifer. She was probably won over by that note.
Forty-year-old Red Marlow from Dickson, Tennessee, sang "Swingin" by John Anderson. Miley was very excited as she told Blake she plans on winning the Voice with a country artist. Though it seemed she had a good chance at getting Red on her team, he chose Team Blake.
All was not lost for Miley Cyrus as the next and last contestant for the night was 21-year-old Ashland Craft. Ashland performed the classic song "You Are My Sunshine: and delivered the melody with a strong, country and even gospel feel. Though Adam and Blake fought hard for Ashland, she ultimately chose Team Miley. Miley was beyond thrilled to have Ashland.
Maybe Miley will win The Voice after all?
What do you think? Do you like the way the teams are shaping up?
