Terry Crews is definitely very grateful that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is not yet over and he wanted to express it! He took to social media this morning to thank Mark Hamill for his role in resurrecting the series.
His post surfaced just hours after NBC announced that it would return for a sixth season after all and one day after FOX had initially canceled it.
Crews, who stars as Sgt. Terry Jeffords wrote: ‘@HamillHimself I really want to THANK YOU, Mark, for using the force to save Brooklyn-Nine-Nine! *Wipes dirt off shoulder*.’
Previously, on Thursday to be exact, the Stars Wars actor made it very clear that he was not happy the show would end so soon and used his influence to bring it back.
‘Oh NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I am SO not ready to say #ByeBye99. Be forewarned @FOXTV-when networks dump shows I love, I am known for holding grudges a long, L-O-N-G time. I am still mad @CBS did not renew #SquarePegs! #EverythingILikeGetsCancelled.’
Seeing how the show is now set to return with a new season, it is safe to say the network took notice.
Mark Hamill acknowledged Terry’s gratitude saying: ‘Thanks @terrycrews, the pleasure was all mine!’
Of course, the actor pretty much forgot the many fans who fought by his side to get the show to continue and took the whole credit.
After all, they collectively made it happen, outraged and heartbroken to hear that Fox had decided to cancel it.
The Chairman at NBC, Robert Greenblatt, released the following statement on Friday: ‘Ever since we sold this show to Fox I have regretted letting it get away, and it is high time it came back to its rightful home. Mike Schur, Dan Goor, and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC, and we are all thrilled one of the, funniest, smartest, and best cast comedies in a very long time will take its rightful place in our comedy line-up. I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!’
