After months of dealing with arrests and stints in jail, thanks to a heroin addiction, former Teen Mom OG star Ryan Edwards has checked into rehab for the second time. An insider says that Edwards has been in treatment for a few weeks and isn’t expected to leave until February or March, which means that he will miss the birth of his son, Jagger, with wife Mackenzie Standifer.
Standifer is due to give birth this month, and she has reportedly moved out of the lake house she was sharing with Edwards and is now living with her parents.

Multiple sources say that Edwards entered rehab in an Alabama facility about a month ago, and another clue that something is going on with the 30-year-old is that he has been absent from Standifer’s social media. Last week, Standifer attended an event with a few couples, and when fans asked her where Edwards was, she replied that he was at “home.”
Standifer has yet to comment publicly about her husband’s latest rehab stint, or if he will indeed miss the birth of their son. Edwards’ dad Larry said that he couldn’t comment on his son’s substance abuse treatment, and he couldn’t say if Edwards would be in the delivery room for the birth of his grandson.
According to Radar Online, clerks in the Hamilton County and Red Banks, Tennessee, courts could not confirm that Edwards’ rehab was court ordered.
Edwards legal trouble began when cops pulled him over in March 2017 for a traffic stop, and they ended up issuing him a citation for simple possession of heroin. They also confiscated 14 hypodermic needles, with one of them containing heroin. Police also found a bag with a dark substance, and Edwards reportedly told police that he had “a problem.”
In May 2017 Edwards entered rehab for the first time after MTV cameras caught him slurring his words and nodding off at the wheel while driving.
Police later arrested Edwards again in March 2018 for a petition to revoke after he failed his drug test in January — testing positive for opiates and morphine. He was sentenced to six months probation, plus he had to work five public workdays and submit to random drug testing.
Then in July, Edwards spent time in jail for breaking probation on a past possession charge. The court dismissed the petition to revoke on the first count of simple possession of heroin, but on the second charge, they sentenced him to a suspended sentence of 11 months and 29 days. And, he had to complete six months of probation and five public work days.
Maci Bookout’s baby daddy and his new wife will not be on the upcoming season of Teen Mom OG because MTV fired them earlier this year. However, Ryan Edwards’ drama with Bookout and her husband Taylor McKinney will play out from their viewpoint.
New episodes of Teen Mom OG air Monday nights on MTV.
