Teen Mom Ryan Edwards Arrested For Heroin Possession And Theft Months After Leaving Rehab
Ryan Edwards has officially fallen off the wagon. This week, police in Hamilton County, Tennessee arrested the Teen Mom OG star for heroin possession and theft, which landed him in jail on a $500 bond.
A clerk in the county jail confirmed that Edwards was arrested on Jan. 23 and that he had another possession charge in Red Bank County. A warrant was apparently issued for his arrest around the same time officers in Hamilton County booked him. No bond has been set for the drug charges.
Radar Online released a mug shot of Edwards, in which he appears tired and pale. Edwards is scheduled to appear before a judge in Red Bank County on Jan. 28, which means he will likely spend the weekend behind bars. His court date for Hamilton County was set for Feb. 6.
This is hardly the first time Edwards has battled heroin abuse. The Teen Mom star has struggled with drug issues for years and checked himself into rehab late last year. Edwards completed his treatment program on Thanksgiving.
As fans will recall, police busted Edwards for heroin possession in the spring of 2017. Officers found 14 hypodermic needles in Edwards’ possession, one of which contained traces of heroin. Edwards entered rehab in May of that year, weeks after tying the knot with Mackenzie Standifer . He left rehab nine days before his program was finished.
Last March, Edwards’ drug saga continued after he failed a drug test. The reality star had morphine and opiates in his system at the time of the test. He was also taken into custody in July for a probation violation.
Despite Edwards’ serious drug problem, Standifer has remained at his side. The couple had their first child, Jagger, back in October. She has not commented on Edwards’ recent arrest. Ryan Edwards is also the father of a child with Teen Mom star Maci Bookout.
