The latest sneak peek clip of Teen Mom OG – that features Catelynn Lowell taking a pregnancy test and her daughter, Nova, wearing a shirt that says, “I am going to be a big sister” – has confused fans. And, it seems the truth behind the promo is truly devastating. According to a new report, Lowell suffered a miscarriage before she returned to rehab last November.
The latest MTV promo is confirming the pregnancy rumors, but the 25-year-old ended up losing her baby. In the clip, Lowell surprises her husband, Tyler Baltierra, by dressing up their daughter in the special shirt and giving him a pregnancy test.
“It is actually really sad,” says an insider. “Catelynn got pregnant and surprised Tyler and Nova and then had a miscarriage not long after.”
To make things worse, Lowell had to record voice-overs for the episode and talk about getting pregnant after she lost the baby.
Lowell isn’t the only Teen Mom OG star to struggle with this issue. Maci Bookout recently revealed on the show that she had a miscarriage, and she shared that she and her husband, Taylor McKinney, named the baby girl Dandelion.
After Lowell’s miscarriage in November, she went to rehab a second time for mental health and emotional issues. At the time, she said that she needed to take time out to take good care of herself. She admitted that she had thought of every way possible to commit suicide, including wrapping a belt around her neck and running her car into an electric pole.
But, instead, she decided to seek treatment to get better, because the world needs all of us and we are all here for a reason.
After six weeks in rehab, the Conquering Chaos author returned home in late December, and she told fans that she was feeling better and excited about the future.
But, just two and half weeks after her return, she went back to treatment.
She tweeted that the third time is the charm, and she needed to go back to deal with some trauma and change her medication. Lowell revealed that she would be going back for six weeks, and she thanked Baltierra and told him how much she loved him. She also called Nova her “sunshine.”
When a fan asked her what trauma she was talking about, Lowell responded it was trauma from her childhood.
