Maci Bookout is opening up about her recent confrontation with her ex, Ryan Edwards. The Teen Mom star claims Edwards threatened her over the phone and that her only course of action was to file a restraining order against him. Bookout made the decision to keep her family safe, but that does not mean it was easy.
“It was hard, like, as far as the decision goes, but at the same time it was necessary,” she explained.
For Bookout, the decision to file a restraining order was based on more than just Edwards’ recent hostility. According to Us Magazine, the reality star got the order because of Edwards’ history and everything they have been through as a family this past year.

This includes the time when Edwards allegedly showed up at their son, Bentley’s, baseball game and threatened to hit Bookout. Her husband, Taylor McKinney, also claims that Edwards said he was going to “put a bullet” in him at the game.
Edwards’ erratic behavior was also featured on Teen Mom OG. In the teaser for Season 8, fans got a look at how Bookout and McKinney dealt with Edwards’ threats. At one point in the clip, McKinney tells Bookout that Edwards just called and threatened him.
In response, Bookout suggests that they get the cops involved.
Bookout teased that fans will learn more about what unfolded in the upcoming season. Edwards and his wife, Mackenzie Standifer, left the show back in July, so it is unclear how much he will appear on the show. He was also arrested twice this year for charges related to a heroin bust in 2017.
Bookout and McKinney were granted a restraining order and we can only hope that things turn around for the family, especially for Bentley’s sake.
Ryan Edwards has not commented on the restraining order or Maci Bookout’s recent comments.
