On the Teen Mom 2 reunion, Jenelle Evans came to the defense of her husband, David Eason, who MTV fired earlier this year because of his homophobic comments on Twitter. Evans said that Eason should have expressed his views about the LGBTQ community in a different way.
“He thinks he shouldn’t have said it the way he did, but he still stands by his views,” she said. “He doesn’t hate those people, he just doesn’t want his kids to grow up and be that way.”
And, when host Dr. Drew Pinsky asked Evans how Eason would react if one of their kids were gay, she said that he would still love them, but wouldn’t agree with their lifestyle. The reality star explained that it is “the way he was raised,” but his kids didn’t hear the comments he made on social media, and he also deleted them immediately. Evans then added, “He doesn’t run around the house saying I hate gay people.”
Evans also said Eason has apologized and has still not gone back to Twitter, even though he could go online and “rant all he wants.”
Evans didn’t appear with the rest of the Teen Mom 2 cast in New York, and instead, she answered questions separately in a one-on-one interview with Dr. Drew in her home state of North Carolina. After talking about Eason’s firing, the host brought up the scene this season where Evans pulled a gun on another driver in a road rage incident, and she did it with her 9-year-old son Jace in the front seat.
Evans said that ever since the incident she has suffered from PTSD and has had nightmares. She also admitted that she didn’t leave her house for two weeks, but she never thought at the time that it traumatized her son. She says all she thought about was how the other driver almost hurt her son, and what really “p***ed her off” was that he almost knocked her son out.

Since the incident, Jace has been seeing a therapist.
The 26-year-old says that she is scared to go places without her husband, so her gun goes wherever she does. She added that she does have a concealed carry permit.
Earlier in the episode, Dr. Drew talked with Evans’ baby daddy Nathan Griffith (the father of 4-year-old Kaiser) and her mom Barbara Evans. Both talked about Eason’s anger issues and expressed concerns about the kids’ safety.
Griffith thinks that Eason has been physically abusive to Kaiser and said that his son has had a black eye, hand prints on his arm, and markings on his butt. Griffith says he would back off if either Jenelle Evans or David Eason could pass a drug test, but neither of them would do it.
