‘Teen Mom’ Finally Announces Farrah Abraham’s Replacement, And You May Recognize Her From Another MTV Show

More than six months after MTV fired Farrah Abraham from Teen Mom OG, the network has finally announced her replacement – and you won’t believe who they chose. As a matter of fact, you might not even recognize her. MTV made the baffling choice of casting Cheyenne Floyd, who has previously appeared on Are You The One? and The Challenge.
As The Hollywood Gossip reports, producers passed on moms from Teen Mom 3 and all of the seasons of 16 and Pregnant. Rumors swirled for months that Mackenzie McKee would be replacing Abraham, and she seemed like the obvious choice. But according to Ashley’s Reality Roundup, after considering McKee and Ryan Edwards’ wife Mackenzie Standifer, those options “fizzled out,” and MTV continued looking.
An insider claims that producers didn’t think fans would be excited about either McKee or Standifer, but what makes them think fans will like Floyd?
The fact that they decided on Floyd makes zero sense. She is 25 years old and has a one-year-old daughter named Ryder who she shares with Cory Wharton, who was also on The Challenge.
So, obviously, she was never a teen mom, which is supposed to be what the show is about. On top of not having the experience of being a teen mom, she is unfamiliar to most viewers, and she will be an outsider to the “original girls.”
It seemed that McKee was “very interested” in joining the cast, and the money could have helped her pay her mom’s growing medical expenses. But Floyd and Wharton have already signed their contracts and filming starts next week, so it is a done deal.
“It’s official. The only way this doesn’t happen is if Cheyenne or Cory backs out, but contracts have likely already been signed, so it’s highly unlikely,” says an insider.
Another source claims that Floyd and Wharton are “playing up” the role of “happy co-parents,” but their relationship isn’t nearly as happy as they claim on social media. So, they will be a perfect fit for Teen Mom.
Instead of adding Floyd, it may have made more sense for MTV to just stay with Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood. There has been plenty of drama going on between the three of them, and they had enough material for interesting storylines.
There is always the possibility that viewers will learn to love Floyd, but several fans are already complaining.
As for McKee, she recently talked with Kailyn Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley on their podcast Coffee Convos, and she revealed that after she finished shooting Teen Mom 3, her life went to “a very dark place,” and she was glad that she wasn’t on TV because it was the hardest time of her life.
Now, she and Josh McKee are happily married, and the couple has three kids. McKee says things are much better now that she has three children and a good marriage as opposed to two kids and a rocky marriage.
New episodes of Teen Mom OG will return later this year on MTV.
