There may have been a time when the shows in the Teen Mom franchise focused on the day-to-day struggles of young mothers in middle America and the effects of unplanned pregnancies. But, things changed once producers discovered that they could get big ratings with feuds and drama among the cast. However, longtime star Chelsea Houska is fed up with the change, and she is attempting to make Teen Mom great again.
The Hollywood Gossip is reporting that Houska is refusing to participate in the drama that producers love so much and instead will focus on the things that put the franchise on the map in the first place – making babies. The reality star is currently expecting her third child, and she hasn’t been shy about showing off her baby bump on social media.
At the most recent Teen Mom 2 reunion taping, Houska showed up for the Saturday shoot but refused to return to the set on Sunday because her castmates wouldn’t stop fighting and sniping at each other. She was over everyone making life more difficult for themselves, and sources say that Houska and her husband, Cole DeBoer, made sure everyone knew where they stood.
The couple wore shirts reading, “Drama is For Nerds,” and they gave their castmates their own custom shirts as a sign that it is time leave the drama in the past and grow up.
But, this isn’t the first time Houska has voiced her displeasure with the show’s current direction. During a recent Teen Mom 2 episode, fans complained on Twitter that Houska doesn’t appear as often as everyone else. And, she surprisingly responded that the current situation isn’t making her happy.
“I’m almost positive that I’m barely in the next one too lol didn’t you know teen mom 2 isn’t actually even about being a mom anymore?!” she tweeted.
And, when a fan wrote that they miss the show being about the mom and kids, Houska replied, “Same!”
But, just because she doesn’t like the show focusing on drama, it doesn’t mean Houska doesn’t have any going on in her life. Police recently arrested her baby daddy, Adam Lind, for allegedly violating a stalking protection order.
Prosecutors charged Lind with “violation of a stalking protection order, violation of protection or no contact order, and non-support of a minor child.” However, it isn’t clear who the charges particularly pertain to because his ex-girlfriend Brooke Beaton filed a restraining order on him two years ago, but last year police arrested him for domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend Stasia Huber.
Lind also recently lost custody of his daughter Aubree (who he shares with Chelsea Houska), and after he failed to make child support payments to his second baby mama Taylor Halbur, the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
New episodes of Teen Mom 2 air Monday nights on MTV.
