Season 17 of The Voice is already loaded with A-list talent, but the show made room to add another superstar to its lineup. In addition to coaches Blake Shelton , Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Gwen Stefani (who replaced OG coach Adam Levine), Taylor Swift will bring her talent and expertise as a “mega mentor” during the knockout rounds.

NBC revealed the news in a new promo on Instagram that featured Legend and Shelton hanging out on The Voice set, trying to figure out who the mega mentor for Season 17 would be.

"I hear we have a mega mentor?" Legend asked Shelton, who replies, “Yeah, I don’t know who it is, but I know it’s supposed to be a big star."

Legend then adds that the person is supposed to be one of the most successful people in music, and Shelton replies, “That’s true. But, I can’t be.”

“True, you’re already here,” pointed out Legend.

At that moment, Swift emerges from her trailer, and it eventually hits Legend and Shelton who will be joining them on the show this season.

Swift had the same role on The Voice back in Season 7. As a Mega Mentor, she offers advice to all of the contestants during the knockout rounds, not just one team. The knockout rounds begin in October, and Swift will mentor each contestant as they prepare to battle a teammate.

The coach of each time must decide who stays and who goes, but other coaches can steal a contestant that isn’t chosen.

In addition to the news about her upcoming stint on The Voice , Swift has also announced the first tour dates for next year’s Lover Fest tour for her new album Lover . Swift announced the dates on Instagram, telling fans that for her, the Lover album is all about open fields, sunsets, and summer.

Only two of the cities on the tour are in the United States. Swift will be performing at Lover Fest West at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on July 25th and 26th and at Lover Fest East at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on July 31st and August 1st.

The rest of the tour dates are international and include shows in Belgium, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, France, Denmark, and Brazil.

The Lover Fest Tour kicks off on June 20, 2020, at Werchter Boutique in Werchter, Belgium. Season 17 of The Voice premieres Monday, September 23rd on NBC.
