Tarek El Moussa and Christina El Moussa are officially over, and all of their fans remember the fateful day when Christina thought he was suicidal. Back in May of 2016, the police went to their home in Orange County because of an armed man with possible suicidal tendencies.
As the story goes, the 36-year-old left the house with a gun and police and helicopters told him to stop and drop the weapon. Thankfully, he complied with their demands, otherwise, he might’ve gotten shot.
El Moussa told officers that he wanted to “blow off some steam,” so he went out to shoot a gun. A neighbor claimed that Christina ran over to their house to call the police because Tarek put a gun in his backpack and ran outside.
Half-a-year later, the two reality stars were legally separated after being married for almost eight years. Christina previously said to People Magazine that both parties realized it was time for them to split and move on.
When Tarek appeared on the Dr. Oz Show, he explained the incident as a “huge misunderstanding on her part.” According to the Flip-Or-Flop star, he lives near mountain biking trails and wanted to go out on a hike, so he brought a firearm with him in case of an animal attack.
There are all kinds wildlife, bobcats, and mountain lions in the area so he decided it would be best to have protection.
Tarek said that when he saw the police helicopters flying above, he assumed they were “looking for someone bad,” but had no idea they were searching for him until 11 sheriffs surrounded him.
Dr. Oz told him it looked like he was going to commit suicide, to which El Moussa replied, “No, I literally have the text to prove it.” As you may know, Tarek filed for separation in January of 2017 and Christina started dating Ant Anstead.
