Taraji P. Henson Offers Natural Hair Tutorials After Revealing Coronavius Related Depression
Unlike some celebrities, Taraji P. Henson is talking about much more substantial topics while in isolation. Instead of complaining about being confined to her house, the actress got real on the darkness that comes to her mind as she sees the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Taraji has a new movie on Netflix called Coffee and Kareem. While remotely promoting it, she got real on how seeing the devastation this disease is causing others affects her mental health.
While speaking to Buzzfeed News, she said: 'I have my moments. I’m gonna say, 'I know people think I’m all strong and this, that, and the third,' but I have my moments. I have my days where I feel like I'm actually going to go insane and crack up, and then I have to meditate and I have to center myself.'
But it's really watching the path of destruction the illness is on that gets to her.
'Some days are harder than others. Some days I wake up and it's just like, I see the light at the end of the tunnel — and then some days I can't see any light, but I just take one day at a time and I just try to keep myself busy, keep my mind busy. Everybody is important in this moment. Everybody should be careful and be safe.'
The Empire actress decided to step up and do something about it instead of just talking. She's helped to create a free virtual therapy for people who are having a hard time coping but can't afford healthcare.
She's also been taking to her Instagram to offer up natural hair tutorials. Her most popular look so far has been a curly mohawk.
It's great to see a celebrity be a little less tone-deaf and more in tune with the needs of their fans.
