It has been two years since Tamar Braxton made her dramatic exit from The Real and much like the Michael Strahan situation she has not been replaced.
The remaining co-hosts — Adrienne Bailon Houghton, Loni Love, Tamera Mowry–Housley, and Jeannie Mai — recently sat down for an interview and spoke about Braxton.
Asked why the singer and Braxton Family Values star has not been replaced, Bailon Houghton had this to say to Essence magazine: “The same way we can’t get rid of people on the show, we also can’t stop them from adding one.”
Bailon Houghton made the surprising confession that she does not want another person to take Braxton’s seat.
Bailon Houghton also revealed: “In all honesty, there was a moment in time when we said, ‘Why is this happening to us?’But because of going through that, we more than ever value this…and what we went through has made our bond so much stronger. And we’re grateful for that, so we value this; its precious to us, and we don’t allow anything to infiltrate this.”
She went on to say the drama made them stronger: “Because of going through that, we more than ever value this … and what we went through has made our bond so much stronger. And we’re grateful for that, so we value this. Its precious to us, and we don’t allow anything to infiltrate this.”
As for why the ladies did not address Braxton’s firing, Love had this to share: “That’s embarrassing when you get let go of a show. That’s embarrassing, so sometimes it’s better just not to say nothing and let the process play out. Timing is everything.”
Mai added: “And we couldn’t say anything either because we have a job to uphold, and we also didn’t know what was going on because it’s just our job.”
Love has been spilling the tea on Braxton’s firing. Appearing on The Breakfast Club, Love had this to say: “The first person she unfollowed was me. People assumed that I was the one. I know Tamar — she’s a good person. She probably saw all the heat I was getting; then she unfollowed Jeannie [Mai]. Then after a couple of days, she unfollowed these two [Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adrienne Houghton.”
Love went on to blame Vincent Herbert for the drama.
The comedian shared: “Vince said we were jealous, and then he names me specifically, and you know why I say he does that? Because I gave her the number of Rushion McDonald [Steve Harvey’s former manager].”
Do you think they need to find a replacement for Braxton on The Real? Do you miss her on the show?
