Steve Harvey’s Latest Racist Routine is Offensive Against Asian Men

Steve Harvey, who has been under the public’s scrutiny after it was revealed he used to base his stand-up numbers on extremely hateful, racist jokes about white people, has once again offended a group of people, this time, Asians – Asian men to be exact.

On Tuesday, during an episode of his talk show, the comedian cracked some really insensitive jokes about Asian men. The number was filled with outdated stereotypes being brought forward and it was not funny in the slightest. In fact, many people seemed to cringe at this words and the fact that he kept laughing at his own jokes.

Standup comedy is known to have this kind of wild humor that attacks race among other sensitive topics in a humorous way. However, Harvey’s number fell flat and ended up being offensive more than anything.

During the show, the host was poking fun at a few dating guide-type books when he finally stopped on a certain one, the title of which read How to Date a White Woman: A Practical Guide for Asian Men. He based his uninspired routine on the book, saying:

He suggested it was quite simple – just ask the woman: “Do you like Asian men?” only to then answer himself: “No,” like it was the general, unmistakable truth that white women are not interested in Asian men.

“I don’t even like Chinese food,” he continued. “I don’t eat what I can’t pronounce.”

Naturally, the comedian posted an apology on Twitter in which he apologized for offending the Asian-American community - already struggling with representation on TV and in Hollywood, as it is.

“I offer my humblest apology for offending anyone, particularly those in the Asian community, last week. It was not my intention and the humor was not meant with any malice or disrespect whatsoever,” wrote Harvey.

As we have reported before, this is not his first time offending people. In fact, Steve Harvey was even sued in November for spewing hateful words against white people.
