Much to the excitement of the diehard fans, Spice Girls are going on tour next summer! However, it turns out that one member of the legendary girl group, Victoria Beckham, is not going to join the other ladies!
Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Horner stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show, and while there, they revealed that they did not even ask Victoria if she wanted to come on tour as well as explained why!
Mel C shared that ‘Do you know what’s actually quite funny. I saw Victoria recently and obviously, we have all been in contact, she’s still very much a part of the Spice Girls, she supports us and we support her. But she did raise the valid point that she was never really asked [to go on tour]. We just presumed.’
‘I spoke to her 2 days ago, before the announcement and she’s said it for years that she just does not want to do it anymore, so we knew that,’ Geri confirmed Mel C’s words.
So it seems like there is no bad blood between them – it’s just that all the Spice Girls know and understand each other very well.
That being said, Emma explained that ‘She just didn’t want to do it. She was busy with her fashion career and she’s moved on. The philosophy of us is that we’re a band, on and off stage and we really do care for each other, we support one another and support her, she’s been a huge part of our lives and we truly care about her, so it’s all good.’
Meanwhile, a source previously told ET that Victoria would not be joining the tour because ‘she has a family to look after and also a business to run.’
