During this season of Southern Charm, Austen Kroll has found himself in the middle of some major relationship drama with his girlfriend, Victoria, and his ex-girlfriend, Chelsea Meissner. Kroll and Meissner have attempted to be friends after their breakup, but Victoria can’t get over the fact that the two have a romantic past. Plus, the picture of Kroll and Meissner getting cozy at Hilton Head didn’t help the situation, and he admits the tension with Victoria does eventually “come to a head.”
In an interview with Hollywood Life, Kroll revealed that he did have some things to say to Meissner at the reunion, but they have figured things out and are good friends.
Kroll also explained that the Hilton Head picture came after he talked with Meissner about his relationship with Victoria, but at the same time he was also trying to get to a good place in his friendship with Meissner. He said that they had a great talk, and the picture came when she started to cozy up next to him because it was so cold.
Happy Belated Birthday to my fellow one dimpled Gemini, @chelseameissner58 . Theres something very calming and genuine about being in your presence Chels, hence why we became so close so fast. I felt more comfortable opening up to you about my sister, Kyle, and everything else in between than I have with anyone in years. And I’ve now had the pleasure of celebrating our joint birthdays for the past two years. A trend I hope continues for years to come. A belated post only bc I decided to post in between our two birthdays! Anyways, I know people hate long posts, but I don’t care! 33 never looked so good! NOTE: That’s Chels and I riding the Unicorn float in the pool! #onedimpledgeminis? #31and33
He said he didn’t think anything of it, but when Victoria saw the pic, she was not happy. Kroll said it was “exhausting” to talk her off the ledge.
However, when watching the video footage, he realizes now that it may have looked a bit flirtatious and like they were overstepping boundaries. So, he understands why Victoria felt the way she did.
Meissner and Victoria eventually talked things out, and Kroll was happy about that since they are both important to him for different reasons. But, he says that as soon as things get good, they go bad – which means things do “come to a head” this season.
Kroll and Meissner went from romantic to platonic at the beginning of season five, and Kroll says that they broke up because they were at “two different places” in their lives. He said that he likes to go out, but Meissner “lives life like a grandma.”
As @relationshep mentioned, I’m some sort of softball coach. Really, I wore this shirt as a metaphor today; I’m just trying to coach these guys to be their best selves, or as some might say in #aleagueoftheirown⚾️ #amijimmydugan? P.s. thanks for that post @camwimberly1, now you’re definitely not gonna be in my match.com campaign
He admits that they should have been able to compromise, with her going out more and him staying in with her on some nights. But, she wasn’t willing to try that, and just thought that since they don’t fit perfectly, it wasn’t going to work out.
Austen Kroll says Victoria was a “breath of fresh air” because she liked to go out just like he does, but ultimately it didn’t work out because they were too much alike.
New episodes of Southern Charm air Thursday nights on Bravo.
