Southern Charm Producers Allegedly Contacted Thomas Ravenel Relatives To Add Drama To Stalled New Season
Southern Charm will reportedly be back for another season but the new word on the street is that the last season was lacking drama so much so that producers are desperately searching for new cast members to join the lineup. A report claims that they've even contacted a relative of Thomas Ravenel to bring in ratings.
Last season, Shep Rose took the title of resident villain on the Bravo hit. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for the absence of T. Rav who was dealing with legal issues.
Although it's been said by Thomas himself that he's never returning due to his strained relationship with both the cast and the producers who he dragged into his lengthy court battle with Kathryn Dennis, Cameron Eubanks recently said she wouldn't be surprised if he made his way back.
Fans were not able to hear about the drama between the two parents last season and won't be able to in the new installment because it was written into the custody agreements that Dennis isn't allowed to talk about it on the show. The two children are also not allowed to appear on camera.
According to Radar Online, showrunners allegedly reached out to relatives of Ravenel to join the series.
'Southern Charm producers are desperate. They reached out to some of Thomas’ relatives about being on the next season. Thomas’ first cousin, Lee Ravenel, was approached to be on the show, but he declined. They want stories about Thomas and his children from a family point of view. But this seemed like a stretch and people are saying no.'
This is the second time it's been said that the show is in trouble in the matter of a few months. Fans were given hope that filming would start soon when the stars appeared at Bravocon.
The insider went on to say: 'Bravo is searching for new cast members and there are just not any storylines that they really want to cover right now.'
Who do you think they should get to join Southern Charm?
