Sofia Vergara Meets Up With 'America's Got Talent' Execs To Discuss Replacing Gabrielle Union After Her Controversial Firing!
Rumor has it that Sofia Vergara may be joining the judge panel on America’s Got Talent following Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough’s controversial firing! Reportedly, the actress met up with some NBC execs and during their discussions, which lasted about two hours, she managed to impress them!
It sounds like the talent show is not wasting any time when it comes to replacing the two former judges.
TMZ was the first to report that Vergara had a meeting with the show’s execs yesterday, December 18.
Sources told the news outlet that even though she was 20 minutes late, Sofia still managed to impress everyone there, including NBC Entertainment’s President, Paul Telegdy.
But they also mentioned that while they had her in mind for AGT first and foremost, she was not there to exclusively discuss joining that particular show.
Allegedly, they talked about a variety of different opportunities, including a Spanish project, since NBC owns Telemundo as well.
Another insider noted that the network thinks she’s a very versatile entertainer and would love to work with her after she wraps up Modern Family.
In the meantime, Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough were judges on AGT for only one season and after their firing, Gabrielle revealed that there was a toxic culture on set that included overt racism and sexism.
Apparently, she received criticism multiple times over her hairstyles, being told that they were ‘too black.’
NBC and Fremantle have denied there was ever such a racist and sexist situation behind the cameras but Gabrielle revealed earlier this month that she had a discussion with the production about making real positive changes on set.
‘We had a lengthy 5-hour, and what I thought to be, productive meeting yesterday. I was able to again, express my unfiltered truth. I led with transparency and my desire and hope for real change,’ she tweeted.
