Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps was one of the celebrities who appeared at San Francisco’s Pride Parade last weekend, and sources claim she was in full diva mode – barking orders, yelling at people, and stashing booze. Was de Lesseps drinking alcohol after her drunk and disorderly arrest and rehab stint?
De Lesseps was in San Francisco to perform her cabaret show, and during the Pride Parade she rode in a car with “Emperor” Leandro Gonzales and drag queen “Empress” Pollo Del Mar for the Imperial Council, an LGBTQ nonprofit.
An insider told Page Six that de Lesseps “had a paper cup of booze stashed in the side of the car,” and “she was yelling at [an associate] who was then yelling at volunteers – three of whom were deaf.”

The source also claims that de Lesseps wanted to make sure people recognized her – there was a banner announcing her presence – and she was stressing out volunteers by micromanaging. And, by the time the parade began, de Lesseps was “pretty tipsy.”
The insider continued their claims by saying de Lesseps kept distracting a “wheel monitor” – the person in charge of making sure no one got run over –, and she kept calling people over to the car, something she wasn’t supposed to do. Security yelled at her contingent numerous times because they kept pulling people in from the crowd, and the source says it was a frustrating and stressful situation. And, it took all of the fun out of the event.
But a spokesperson for the 53-year-old reality star says that de Lesseps was drinking sparkling water, and she wasn’t “tipsy” because she no longer drinks alcohol. They also denied the claims of de Lesseps micromanaging the banner placement, even though someone could have perceived it that way.
The spokesperson went on to say that de Lesseps is a “perfectionist and a professional,” and that is why her cabaret show is so successful.
The Imperial Council also commented on the situation, and a rep said that they would never jeopardize their relationship with SF Pride by knowingly breaking their rules of conduct. They also said it is always their intent to provide a safe environment for their volunteers.
On Christmas Eve last year, police arrested de Lesseps in Palm Beach, Florida, and charged her with disorderly intoxication, battery of an officer, resisting arrest with violence, and crimes against a person.
After her arrest, the Countess voluntarily checked herself into an alcohol treatment center. And, last month, de Lesseps’ attorney announced in court that his client had accepted a plea deal in the case after initially pleading not guilty.
