Simon Yam From Tomb Raider Shockingly Stabbed On Stage While In China
According to a report from Page Six, Simon Yam, an actor hailing from Hong Kong, was stabbed in the stomach on Saturday after an event in Southern China. The police stated the injuries were not severe, moreover, it's unclear why the attacker went after him.
Police said in their report that suspect was captured in the Zhongshan Huoju Development Zone in the Guangdong province. His manager, Lester Mo, said the 64-year-old had to get very minor surgery at a hospital in Zhongshan city.
Mo said that the star was "stabbed in the tummy area," and he also received a cut on his right hand. Followers of celebrity culture know that anonymous attackers aren't totally uncommon for those in the public eye.
Perhaps the most infamous examples are the murdering of John Lennon by Mark David Chapman in 1980, as well as the murder of Sharon Tate in 1969 by the Manson Family.
Another star to experience a similar situation was Elizabeth Hurley, whose nephew was stabbed one evening after an argument and nearly died. In March of 2018, Elizabeth shared a photo in which her nephew's back was on display.
The star claimed the incident occurred one evening after a very minor collision. Elizabeth said on her Twitter that the police and the hospital staff were working fantastically. At the time of the stabbing, no arrests were reported. The young man's friend also was stabbed as well.
Thankfully, Yam isn't in critical condition. The actor is being treated at the moment for injuries to his right hand. Yam Tat-wah, also known as just Simon Yam in North America, has been in approximately 125 movies as well as 40 television series.
The actor, in 2003, portrayed the main antagonist in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life, starring Angelina Jolie. Born on the 19th of March, 1955, Simon Yam Tat-wah has received universal acclaim for performances in big hit movies including the aforementioned Lara Croft movie, Exiled, Exiled 2, Election 2, Election, and Naked Killer.
