There is no uncertainty that Shawn Mendes is a massive fan of Taylor Swift so getting to perform by her side apparently felt ‘unreal.’ As you may already know, Shawn is set to perform tonight at the Billboard Music Awards, but before that, the singer was on the red carpet, where he talked about his incredible month.
Most recently, and perhaps the highlight of it all was this weekend when he had the opportunity to perform by Taylor’s side as part of her Reputation tour.
‘Unbelievable. It was awesome to be back and with her. It is a very different thing to be brought out, a special guest from opening. Unreal, man. I wish you could experience what that feels like,’ he told E! News.
On Friday night, Mendes surprised the audience when he showed up at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to be part of Swift’s concert.
He and Taylor Shawn performed There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back, and the 60,000 fans in attendance loved it judging by their loud cheering.
In Las Vegas, Shawn is set to perform one song from his upcoming album and the project also features a collab with none other than Khalid, titled Youth.
‘We have been really good friends for a couple of years and got together talking about doing something important and to write something very important. I am so excited to do it with him. It is a really special performance [tonight],’ he shared.
Of course, Mendes is also super excited for his fans to hear his brand new music.
‘You have to think all of the time, the effort you have put into making it. Be like, okay. Now it’s going to come out. Let’s go really hard for three weeks. Travel the world and show people the album. Because that is really what you want and it is fun. I am going through a fun period now,’ he said.
