Basketball Wives fans have been split these past few weeks. After many called for the show to be canceled, Shaunie O’Neal has revealed that it has been renewed for another season.
This season retired women’s football player O.G was deemed as aggressive after threatening to kill multiple castmates. On the upcoming reunion, she will be asked to film separately from the rest of her co-stars.
Meanwhile, many viewers felt that OG was being held to a different standard considering the fact Evelyn Lozada has been violent in past seasons and even tried to fight multiple people this installment.
During the online debate, it was called into question whether executive producer Shaunie O’Neal was colorist because she has been accused of playing favorites with both Evelyn Lozada and Malaysia Pargo (who happened to throw a table last season in an argument).
Shaq’s ex-wife also teased a cast shakeup which caused fans to believe that OG may have been let go. The businesswoman took to her Instagram page to let fans know what’s going on.
First and foremost, the VH1 series has been renewed.
Shaunie also appeared on Instagram Live where she revealed that OG has not been fired and denied claims of being a colorist. This all happened with the support of her ex-husband who many are asking her to reunite with.
This comes after the EP’s social media was bombarded with hate comments.
‘Just because you say it over and over doesnt make it true. @iHeartOGwouldn’t allow @EvelynLozadato bully her so you claimed the victim was the aggressor. The obvious colorism this season was disgusting.I know you saw Schooldays, apparently you didn’t get the message,’ said one Twitter follower.
While another added: ‘I hope that they are cutting these imaginary parts out of the agression of @iHeartOG because hun we just aren’t seeing it. But what we are seeing is you being a real adult bully. Being upset that OG defended Cece against Evelyn who was attempting to assault her from the back.’
