Shaunie O’ Neal Wants Viewers To ‘Get The F*** Over’ The Fact That Most Of Them Aren’t Basketball Wives
Much like the Real Housewives franchise, many of the women that star on Basketball Wives are not married or dating a basketball player currently. However, Shaunie O’Neal wants viewers to ‘get the f*** over it.’
In a promotion for the latest season of the show, the ladies sit down and talk about the age-old observation that they are technically not basketball wives.
‘The fact that people still say, ‘Oh they’re not wives and blah blah blah, I’m like, get the f–k over it because we are 12 seasons in. Everybody’s not a wife but you know, we’ve been divorced, we’ve been married, we’ve been engaged, been a baby mama, whatever it is, you might be a girlfriend. You get the gist of it. Let’s just not be that petty. Okay, you’re not a wife.’
She explained why it’s so hard to get actual WAGS on the show.
‘It’s extremely hard to get ladies on the show that are married or are in a current relationship with a basketball player. Why? Because it opens up Pandora’s box.’
Meanwhile, Jennifer Williams is convinced that the series was named after her.
‘I feel that this show was named after me because when this show started, I actually was a basketball wife. My husband at the time threw a drink on me, in my face, on national television, so I earned this title: basketball wife.’
Meanwhile, Evelyn Lozada suggested a new name for the VH1 program.
‘What do you want us to be called? Basketball wife exes? Basketball wife hos? I don’t know what you guys want the name of the show to be.’
Evelyn may be making her way to another show. After her flirty exchange with Rob Kardashian on Twitter, it wouldn’t be a surprise if viewers saw her on ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians.’
