It’s really no secret by now that the old cast of the beloved show is not thrilled about the Charmed reboot! The same goes for many of the fans.
Now, Ser’Darius Blain, one actor set to star in CW’s revived show airing in the fall, opened up about the feud between the original and new cast members as well as the online backlash.
Blain was in attendance at the Celebrity Connected Honoring the MTV Movie and TV Awards Luxury Gifting Suite where he told ET: ‘Honestly, it’s sad for me.’
‘I don’t like that there is so much discord between the old and the new. I wish we could just come together, find a happy medium and all be happy.’
The 31-year-old actor stars as one of the three sisters’ potential love interest in the upcoming reboot.
He believes that the Charmed revival not coming back with the original cast members as it happens in the case of many other reboots nowadays contributed to the public’s disapproval.
Blain assured everyone that the upcoming reboot is not going to be disgracing the original’s legacy and that he would love for the old cast to make star appearances.
‘I think that old fans are afraid we are going to completely forget what was built before us or not going to pay homage to it and it’s very much the opposite.’
‘We are not trying to replace them at all. I wish them all nothing but the best and hope we get to see each other at Comic-Con or something – hang out, grab some drinks! I hope they do not think we are trying to take their legacy or anything because it is not the case. If we could have them cameo, we wouldn’t say no. We are actors – we just want to play!’
