Following the pretty disrespectful comment famous designer, Stefano Gabbana left under a pic of Selena Gomez, her mother is also coming to her defense. Here’s what Mandy Teefey had to say about her daughter being called ‘really ugly’ by the Dolce & Gabbana creator and how the singer is handling it.
The mother told People that Sel is choosing to just ignore the unnecessary comment.
‘When someone has a desire to speak out about something by using a word so hateful, we ignore it,’ Mandy said.
As you may be aware, the Italian brand co-founder stumbled upon a The Catwalk Italia’s (TCI) Insta post that featured Gomez in a few different red gowns.
But instead of picking the look he liked the best as the caption was asking, Gabbana wrote: ‘è proprio brutta,’ which means ‘She’s really ugly.’
‘9 out of 10 if you reply, they go, ‘Oh my god, I am your biggest fan.’ They just want to get a reaction,’ Mandy went on.
As for what is the best way to deal with hate from high profile people, the mother and 13 Reasons Why producer, said it’s just to ‘ disappear for a while and realize that’s their issue.’
But Miley Cyrus is someone who did not ignore the hateful comment!
On a fan site, under an old pic of the former Disney stars hugging, she slammed the designer, saying: ‘Well what that d*ck head said (if it’s true) is f**king false and total bullsh*t. She is fine as f**k.’
Maybe the man is hating on Selena because she hasn’t been wearing his brand since 2011? Although that would be really childish!
Who knows! Perhaps he’s just a really blunt person.
