Francia Raisa, Selena Gomez's best friend who donated a kidney to the singer, is hitting the gym again after the kidney transplant. The actress took to Instagram on Thursday, September 21 to share a video of herself lifting weights.
She wrote in the caption 'Happy to be back.' She was wearing a gray Under Armour sports bra, gray leggings and a black cap in the video and she flaunted her abs and revealed the scars from the kidney transplant.
Selena announced earlier this month that she suffered a secret surgery to receive a kidney transplant from her friend Francia during this summer.
Selena reportedly had a kidney failure, and she was rushed to the hospital when she was in Chicago to support her boyfriend The Weeknd's concert and he was by her side the whole time .
She shared a photo of her and Francia lying on hospital beds side-by-side while holding hands post-surgery.
She also showed her scar from the kidney transplant.
She wrote, 'I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering.'
'It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and the incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me before and post-surgery.'
She thanked her friend Francia, 'And finally, there aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much, sis.'
