Selena Gomez Visits Her Old Middle School Surprising Students There
Selena Gomez felt like visiting a place she spent her earlier years at, the Danny Jones Middle School in Grand Prairie, and as you can imagine, the students there were super excited to meet the superstar. What a great surprise from the alumni!
Selena Gomez, who is 27 years old now, stopped by a few different classrooms in order to meet as many kids as she could.
She also said hello to her old teachers and opened up about some of her memories in middle school, even the less pleasant ones like having to eat lunch all alone.
In a clip shared on the Mansfield Independent School District’s website, Selena addresses the students over the intercom: ‘Hello, students of Danny Jones Middle School. This is Selena Gomez talking to you.’
She goes on to explain that she just felt like taking her BFF, Courtney, and record label staff member to show her a special place from her childhood.
‘Some of my teachers I got to see again and they were part of my life for so long,’ she dished.
Basketball coach and one of those influencers in her life, Stephani Gray, could not help but gush over Selena, saying that ‘As a student, Selena was so humble and she was really kind. She had a really kind, soft spirit. Hard, hard worker. Real humble. Just a really neat kid.’
She then admitted that when Selena told her she got a movie gig after graduating from middle school, she did not think much of the opportunity.
‘She said, ‘Oh I’m just going to be in a little Disney film.’ I said, ‘Oh. OK.’ Because sometimes middle school kids kind of exaggerate.’
