Selena Gomez got candid about her struggle with mental illness in a brand new interview. The star admitted that her anxiety and depression will most probably never disappear entirely but that’s totally Okay!
This year, Gomez has been super focused on her health but the singer understands her life might never be perfect no matter how much she works on it.
‘I have had a lot of issues with depression and anxiety, and I have been very vocal about it, but it is not something I feel I will ever overcome. There will not be a day when I am like, ‘Here I am in a pretty dress—I won!’ I think it is a battle I am gonna have to face for the rest of my life, and I am okay with that because I know that I am choosing myself over anything else,’ the celeb explained.
The ‘Wolves’ singer went on to say that ‘Anyone who knows me knows I’ll always start with my health and my well-being. I am starting my year off with that thought. I want to make sure I am healthy. If that is good, everything else will fall into place.’
That is a great way of thinking! Keep fighting, Selena!

At the same time, the singer hinted that fans might have to wait quite a long while before enjoying her next album.
Although it has been in the works for a long time, she still doesn’t feel confident enough ‘about where [her] music is at yet.’
‘If it takes 10 years, then it takes ten years. Right now I want to be super intentional with all the things I am doing.’
Let’s just hope it doesn’t take ten years! Although we’re sure, her loyal fans will definitely wait until she’s finally ready.
