There have been rumors circulating that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes were a couple for almost five years now. Neither would comment on it and they were rarely seen together out in public except for a couple of times stealthily captured by paparazzi shots. Well, it looks like the couple has taken a huge step in their relationship by publically attending an industry event together.
The 39-year-old Holmes and the 50-year-old Foxx were seen sitting close and cozying up to one another during the annual gala event Clive Davis in honor of the Grammys. Holmes was decked out in a lovely red dress while Foxx kept it classy in a black tuxedo.
The two seemed to whisper and laugh together often throughout the night and reports say that they seemed very much in love. Katie seemed very happy and the two were openly affectionate towards one another.
Rumors regarding the two of them possibly becoming an item started back in 2013 when they were seen together at a fundraiser in New York. Just this past fall, they were spotted strolling hand in hand on a beach in Malibu, understatedly confirming their coupledom.
Now it seems they are making strides to be seen in public spaces around and amongst their peers, really ramping up their public image as very much an item. Sources say that when the pictures of them were released last year, neither were very surprised as they thought they might be spotted beforehand.
Though they’ve made it a mission to keep their love under wraps, that has become less and less necessary as time goes on. The reasons for the secrecy around their romance, in the beginning, lead to a whirlwind of speculation. Some thought it was because Holmes famous ex, Tom Cruise and Foxx used to be good friends.
Others thought that maybe Holmes had signed some type of agreement in the divorce that prevented her from publicly dating as a way to protect Cruise’s ego and reputation.
That rumor was also tied to the speculation that Holmes leaving the Church of Scientology and Cruise having no relationship with their daughter Suri are connected.
