Sean Combs Changes Stage Name Once More From Diddy To "Brother Love"
In a move not inconsistent with his historical affinity for name changes, Sean "Diddy" Combs has changed his name once again. To Love, aka Brother Love.
The media mogul and highly successful businessman, who made a name for himself in the 90s, and since has built an empire fit for annual recognition by Forbes, has decided to change his moniker once again. He used to go by Puff Daddy, and then P Diddy, to finally most recently, Diddy.
In an interesting move, he is switching up the choice completely with Brother Love.
Looks like this was a specific way for him to ring in a new year as he made the announcement on his 48th birthday. He told his fans: "I'm just not who I am before. I'm something different. So my new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love."
The mogul has been known for his eccentric ways so it's not surprising that he would change his name again. Though not all of his fans are feeling the switch up.
While he does admit that it may come off as corny, he revealed that he had been praying on it and that he felt this switch up was the correct thing to do.
As the wealthiest artist in hip-hop, he's worth a cool $820 million. But he has had some personal struggles over this year. He had to undergo knee surgery and the rehabilitation time was tougher than he had originally anticipated.
This seemed to have put many things in perspective for him as he began to talk more openly and consistently about spirituality and his faith.
He's also made specific comments about the state of our society and specific unrest that he sees in different places.
Who knows if these two things were the catalyst the specific choice for his name change or not but it very well could have had something to do with it because love is supposed to be free and all-encompassing. We all need it and we all benefit from its presence.
