According to new reports, the singer of the band, Frightened Rabbit, passed away at the age of 36 on the 10th of May. The singer was previously reported missing by other members of his rock-group.
In a statement released by the band, they confirmed the news of the singer’s passing and said there “are no words” to describe the feeling of sadness and grief they’ve all come to experience as a result of his tragic and shocking death.
Reportedly, on the 9th of May, the group was concerned for his whereabouts and issued a statement asking for him to be found.
The other members of Frightened Rabbit claimed he was in a “fragile state” and was likely not thinking clearly. If reports are true, Hutchison might’ve killed himself.
The police in Scottland said to CNN that he was last spotted leaving the Dakota Hotel around 1 a.m. on Wednesday on the 9th of May. Scott tweeted out a very bizarre message saying that people should be good to “everyone you love……I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me.”
The frontman asked for his fans and followers to hug “(their) loved ones.” According to his family, Hutchison has a long history of mental health struggles.
And in a statement released to CNN, his family said depression is one of those things that “take hold of you” unannounced and without warning at all, and Scott was definitely a victim of the condition.
But the silver lining to his life is that he frequently talked about depression and was a big part of the fight for the end of the stigmatization of mental health. It’s tragic that he succumbed to the illness that he vehemently fought against. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends, family, and fans.
