Despite rumors that they had parted ways after not being seen together in weeks, it appears Scott Disick and Sofia Richie are still going strong.
The pair attended the opening night events for Art Basel in Miami on December 6, which marks their very first public appearance made as a couple. The duo was color coordinated in all-black ensembles.
Reports say that they stayed closely attached to one another throughout the course of the night, showing one another affection through specific kisses and caresses.
Many have frowned down upon this budding relationship. When the two were linked back in May, their age difference caused a bit of a stir. Disick is 36 and Richie is 19. Sofia is the daughter of musical legend Lionel Richie and the sister of actress Nicole Richie.
It was reported that both her father and sister aren’t too happy with Sofia’s relationship but in a cryptic response to a pointed question by a reporter, Lionel said that he trusted his daughter and doesn’t mettle in her dating life.
What’s perhaps more strange and a bit unsettling is that Sofia used to be really good friends with Kylie. She also used to be great friends with Younes Bendjima who is currently dating Scott’s ex, Kourtney. A bit more of the weird mate swapping that seems to take place around the Kardashians and those in their circles.
Another famous example of this is when Blac Chyna, Kim’s former BFF, dated and had a baby with Rob. This was after Chyna had previously been with Kylie’s boyfriend at the time, Tyga, whom she also had a child with. It certainly gets a bit messy and confusing.
One has to wonder if this relationship seems to be sticking, much longer than all the other public trysts that Disick seems to have, because of Richie’s age. 19-year-old minds are much more malleable than that of a grown woman. The implications are a bit dicey at best, but even more so because he likely was around her, via her friendship with Kylie, when she was much younger.
But rumors aside, it looks like this twosome is ready to come out in the open with their relationship.
