In the eyes of the United States government, Scarlett and Romain’s vows to one another are officially over. The estranged lovers finalized their divorce after they were married for only two years according to a report from Us Weekly.
In their joint statement to Us on the 13th of September, the pair confirmed the news, writing that they would remain close friends and co-parent their daughter together in a shared, committed, and compassionate environment.
The star of the Avengers, 32, and the journalist from France, 35, settled their long custody battle at the Supreme Court in Manhattan on the 12th of September according to Page Six.
Sources close to the pair claimed, “Scarlett and Romain are so glad it’s all over. Although they weren’t fighting a lot, they’re pleased that they can just move on and it wasn’t too messy of a custody battle, if you even want to call it a battle.”
Back in January, it was reported by Us Weekly that the Captain America star and her marriage to Dauriac was over.
Scarlett originally wanted full custody of their child together. A source at the time claimed it was Johansson’s idea to break up as she was the first one to make the decision because she just “wasn’t happy.”
The couple went public with their budding relationship back in November of 2012 after they met in Paris. Since then, Scarlett has been seen kissing the star of Saturday Night Live, Colin Jost.
Scarlett and Colin met on the set of SNL when the actress was filming her famous “Complicit” scene about Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka. The scene on the famous late night TV show was praised as Scarlett bears a striking resemblance to Ivanka.
