Sandra Oh And Andy Samberg To Host 76th Golden Globes

Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will host the 76th Golden Globes, NBC announced on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018. The Golden Globes are known for having a relaxed atmosphere and often viewed as a good indication of who will be in the running for an Academy Award. The Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, January 6, 2019, from the Beverly Hilton and will run for three hours.

The 76th Golden Globes will stream live on both coasts 5 p.m. PT and 8 p.m. ET.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) chooses the nominees which will be announced live on the official Golden Globes' Facebook page at 5:05 a.m. PT/8:05 a.m. ET Thursdays, Dec. 6, 2018.

NBC Entertainment Co-Chairmen Paul Teledy and George Cheeks released a joint statement about the choice in co-hosts.

"Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event. They bring wit, charm and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night."

The Golden Globes nominations are always a top trend and there's no question that the broadcast and nominees will be a top search throughout Thursday.

There will be a total of 25 nominations announced Thursday — eleven will be in the general television category and the other fourteen nominations will pertain to movies.

The Golden Globes are considered the official start to award season and many people will tune in to the live stream when it airs in January.

Both Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh are in popular shows that currently air and both are Golden Globe winners.

Andy Samberg stars in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and was a regular cast member of Saturday Night Live . Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns in 2019. He will also produce the 2019 series Pen15 .

While many people know Sandra Oh from Grey's Anatomy, she has been playing the role of Eve Polastri in the series Killing Eve. The series premiered on April 8, 2018, and has already been picked up for a second season. She's also the voice of Castaspella on the new She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.
