According to Salma Hayek, she and Eminem had an embarrassing mishap at the Oscars this past week. Oscars viewers know that the legendary rapper was at the ceremony on Sunday to put on a surprise performance of his classic song, “Lose Yourself,” for which he won an award back in the early 2000s.
Page Six picked up on the post shared by Salma Hayek, in which she explained that the picture shows off Eminem and herself as if they were close friends, but really, what happened was that she bumped into the rapper and tossed water on him by accident.

In these pictures it might look like @Eminem and I are best friends, but what really happened is as he was walking offstage and I was getting ready to walk onstage, I was so shocked to see him that I spilled water all over him. If you examine our faces, I look mortified and he looks terrified of me- As I was trying to wipe it off I impulsively hugged him and I said “Nice to meet you Eminem- I’m a HUGE fan!” because I AM! But I was so disappointed that I made such a fool of myself in front of him… and then I read this [swipe right] in @rollingstone. Eminem you’re the greatest!!! Eminem eres grande!!! According to Salma, she’s the biggest fan of Eminem, so seeing him back there came as a big surprise. With that said, she acknowledged that she felt quite embarrassed about the meeting considering what went down. She said in the post, “Eminem, you’re the greatest!”
On Monday, the 47-year-old rapper explained to reporters from Variety that he had a great time at the Oscars, and a plus side to all of it was that he got to hug Salma Hayek.
As it was previously reported, Eminem put on a surprise performance at the Oscars this year after he failed to show up to the Oscars back in the early 2000s. At the time, Eminem was nominated for an Academy Award for his song, “Lose Yourself,” which was released at the same time as his hit movie, 8 Mile.
“Lose Yourself” came out in 2002 as was 8 Mile. Since its release, both the song and the movie have gone down in history as some of Eminem’s best work. Eminem won the Academy Award for Best Original Song but never went to the awards.
Later, he explained that he didn’t want to go because he felt as though the Oscars didn’t understand a person like him. Marshall Mathers explained that he was probably at home sleeping at the time because his daughter had to get up early for school in the morning.
