Russell Wilson's Mother, Tammy Wilson, Was Honest And Raw With Him When She Discovered He Was Dating Ciara -- She Did It For This Reason
For the very time, Russell Wilson's mom has decided to open up about the way she feels about her daughter-in-law, Ciara.
Tammy Wilson also took the opportunity to reveal to the world the piece of advice she gave her son when she learned that he was dating a single mother raising 5-year-old Future Zahir Wilburn.
Russell's mother opened up about the matter during an appearance on the Raising Fame: Sports Edition , which is a podcast hosted by Steph Curry's parents, Sonya and Dell Curry.
She told the NFL star this is how he should be with Ciara's son from her previous relationship with rapper Future.
She stated: "When he first told me about her, he sent me this picture, and I'm like, 'She looks familiar."
Tammy added: "I didn't really follow Ciara, but I had seen a documentary ... or maybe I read an article about her. And I'm going, being honest with you. I did say something about -- I'm a mom I love my kid. And I'm like, 'Doesn't she have a kid?' So he and I had conversations about that."
She claimed: "I look at my very own situation and how I was born, and so I can't judge anybody. So I said to him, 'OK if you're really serious about it then you have to love that kid as if it were your own, even if that means that you give that kid your name.'"
Her advice concluded as follows: "If you're going to be with someone who has a kid, you can't treat that kid any differently than if it were yours. When it comes to Ciara, Russell loves everything."
Russell and Ciara, who wed in 2016, share a 2-year-old daughter, Sienna, and have a baby on the way.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback did an interview with BuzzFeed where he spoke about Future saying: "The thing that I've learned the most is that being a stepdad, and then also having our little daughter as well, being a stepdad, you really find out what love's like."
He added: "It's interesting. It's easy to love somebody that is your blood and everything else, but when you can love somebody just like it's your own child and everything else, that's what real love is like."
It seems that Russell did listen to his mother on this one.
