Michelle Rounds, the former wife of Rosie O’Donnell is dead, and believe it or not; she is getting bashed on social media.
Earlier today, the sad news broke that Rounds had committed suicide at her home. She was 46 years old.
No additional information was given. Rounds’ mother shared the following message after the death was announced: “If anyone would like to give to the National Suicide Prevention it would also be greatly appreciated. There are so many out there in this world that have demons that they think suicide is the only way out.”
O’Donnell and Rounds dated for about one year before getting married in a private ceremony in New York in June of 2012 and split in 2015.
O’Donnell, who initially filed for divorce, said it was an amicable split and added: “It’s done. We’ve settled. We’re both very happy with the outcome.”
However, the duo had adopted a little girl named Dakota who goes by the nickname Dax had a bitter court battle over the child.
Donald Trump’s foe was awarded full custody of the little girl.
The former television host often shares photos of her daughter and has confessed that Rounds was no longer part of Dax’s life.
This evening, O’Donnell released a statement on the passing of Rounds.
She said: “I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy. Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife and their child.”
Many of her fans shared their condolences.
One of them wrote: “Love you, Rosie, so sorry this tragedy has occurred. Hugs to you, Dax and all the kids and extended family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.”
Another commenter explained: “I’m so so sorry dear Ro. I hope you have some good friends and family rallying around you. No matter the distance there was between you both, I am sure you are devastated. Tonight when I get home, and in my quiet space, I will say a prayer for Michelle, for her family’s healing and for yours and Dakota’s and your entire family’s healing too. Enough of this dark cloud, it’s time for some yellow.”
A few of Trump’s supporters had some harsh words for O’Donnell.
One critic posted: “Oh please, you aren’t mourning anyone! @rosie.”
Another added: “I guess this tragedy is @realdonaldtrump fault too!! #fixyourself.”
Rounds, who was a former a recruiter for a New York-based IT company called Vertex Solutions, had stated that she was happy to end her marriage to O’Donnell.
