Rose McGowan Speaks Out About Marilyn Manson Abuse Allegations, 'He Wasn't That Way With Me'
Rose McGowan and Marilyn Manson began dating in 1999 and the couple was engaged until 2001. It was Rose who called their relationship off citing lifestyle differences as the reason. Now, she is speaking out about the abuse allegations being leveled against the Grammy-nominated rocker. On February 1, 2021, Evan Rachel Wood clarified on her official Instagram account that Marilyn Manson is the person who she alleges brutalized, raped, brainwashed, and tortured her during their romantic relationship. Along with Evan Rachel Wood, four other women levied accusations against Marilyn Manson, they are Sarah McNeilly , Ashley Lindsay Morgan , Ashley Walters , and an artist named Gabriella .
Though Rose McGowan made it clear that Marilyn Manson was never abusive with her, she emphatically showed her support to Evan Rachel Wood, Sarah McNeilly, Ashley Lindsay Morgan, Ashley Walters, and Gabriella.
Rose shared a video on her official Instagram account and stated the following.
I am profoundly sad today and disgusted, but I am mostly proud. Proud of Evan Rachel Wood and the others who have come forward against Marilyn Manson, my ex. When he was with me, he was not like that, but that has no bearing on whether he was like that with others before or after.

Rose also called for the 'Hollywood cult leaders' to stop working with Marilyn Manson and it seems this time people are listening. He has been dropped by his agency CAA, his record label Loma Vista Recording dropped him, he's being edited out of American Gods' final episode that he filmed, and he has been dropped from the Shudder/AMC Networks series Creepshow where he had filmed an episode.
It's likely that Marilyn Manson isn't going to recover from this as the climate has changed since he was first faced with allegations of abuse and racism. Now, cancel culture is coming for Marilyn Manson and it's here to collect.
Each of the women released public statements on their Instagram accounts and every woman concluded her message with a call for industry heads to stop working with Marilyn Manson.
