Robert Pattinson Reportedly The 'Top Choice' To Play Batman In The Upcoming Movie
Rumor has it that Robert Pattinson is the next Batman! Variety reports that the Twilight actor might be starring in Matt Reeves' upcoming The Batman film.
At this time however, it sounds like the deal is yet to be made and so, there is no confirmation Pattinson will take on the iconic character.
Regardless, the news outlet claims Robert is the ‘top choice’ for the role and that a ‘deal is expected to close shortly.’
The Hollywood Reporter also mentions that Armie Hammer, Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have also been on that list of contenders.
The movie is set to be released in the summer of 2021 so they have a couple of months or even less to pick the cast since pre-production will be starting this summer, as per Variety.
The official shooting process is expected to start between late 2019 and early 2020.
As fans of the genre may know, in January, there was news that this new Batman movie would be focusing on a younger version of Bruce Wayne.
What that meant was that Ben Affleck, who portrayed the character in the last few DC movies would take a break from it and let someone else take over the role.
Reeves will be directing the film and he is very excited about it.
In a statement, he said that ‘I have loved the Batman story since I was a child. He is such an iconic and compelling character, and one that resonates with me deeply. I am incredibly honored and excited to be working with Warner Bros. to bring an epic and emotional new take on the Caped Crusader to the big screen.’
Would you be happy with Robert Pattinson playing a younger Batman or not?
