While at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Rita Ora lip-synched her song Let You Love Me and was slammed on social media for it! Now, the star is defending herself against the haters, explaining that not only did everyone do it, it’s also not possible to sing live on the floats!
The big question is – why was Ora singled out if everybody lip-synched?
Maybe she’s really bad at it (compliment) and made it too obvious? We may never know!
Rita took to Twitter to respond to a user who had dissed her performance.
‘Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway,’ she wrote.
John Legend jumped in to assure fans that all his shows are 100 percent live too!
Rita was very happy to receive support from him and replied: ‘Fun fact @johnlegend thank you for clarifying what I was about to also tweet. It’s annoying for us but anyway! All my shows are 100 percent live always have been! Back to holidays! Have a good one guys!’
But despite the negativity on social media, Rita Ora had some serious reasons to celebrate, given the fact that her newest album, titled Phoenix, reached No. 1 in Australia.
She announced her fans that the album would come out at midnight for the rest of the world as well and wished everyone to have happy holidays once again!
As you may know by now, other stars who performed at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade included Kane Brown, Bazzi, Bad Bunny, Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Diana Ross, Pentatonix, Ashley Tisdale and Sugarland.
And yes, it turns out that all of them lip-synched!
