Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps’ ex-husband, French-born Count Alexandre de Lesseps, says she is “ruining the family name” after her drunken hotel-crashing and cop-bashing incident on Christmas Eve. And, because of her arrest and voluntary check-in to rehab, her embarrassed ex wants her to drop his last name.
According to Page Six, the count has been paying close attention to the news of his ex-wife’s arrest for disorderly intoxication, battery of an officer, resisting arrest, and making threats against a public servant, and he is “mortified and ashamed.”
“He told her she is ruining the family name and should drop it if she’s continuing to act like this. He is watching from abroad and is totally embarrassed,” claims the Page Six source.
Of course, he can’t force her to drop the name, but if it were up to him, she would go back to her maiden name of Nadeau.

The fall from grace for the reality star resulted from marrying Tom D’Agostino last New Year’s Eve but then divorcing him just seven months later. Per US Weekly, in her apology for the incident, de Lesseps said that it was her first visit to Palm Beach since her wedding and it happened because of buried emotions she had from her failed marriage.
The Palm Beach Post reports that the 52-year-old announced on Friday via Instagram that she was voluntarily checking-in to an alcohol treatment center. She told her followers that she was embarrassed by her actions at the Colony Hotel last week. This was her second apology for the incident, where – after a night of drinking – she entered room 407 (she was staying in room 327) and got in bed with a male companion. After security guard Carlo Lopez repeatedly told her to leave, he called the police, and when they arrived de Lesseps locked herself in the bathroom.

When an officer tried to detain and remove her, she shoved him and slammed the door on his face, striking him in the forehead. When they finally put her in the police car, she slipped out of her handcuffs and tried to escape the vehicle. When another officer took her out of the back of the car to re-secure her handcuffs, she said, “I’m going to f***ing kill you.”
At her first appearance in court in front of Judge Ted Booras, he told her that she needs to stop drinking because she might have a problem.
Despite her ex-husband’s embarrassment from the incident, a rep for LuAnn de Lesseps says that her family has been supportive of her efforts to get help.
