The Real Housewives of New York City was down a cast member after Carole Radziwill announced in July that she was leaving the show after six seasons. But, according to a new report, producers have found Radziwill’s replacement, and it isn’t who fans expected.
Barbara Kavovit, a friend of Luann de Lesseps, will reportedly be joining RHONY for Season 11, giving the Countess some much-needed support as she goes through her recovery from alcoholism.
The #RHONY S11 fulltime cast is:
Bethenny, Sonja, LuAnn, Ramona, Dorinda, Tinsley, and new housewife Barbara Kavovit

Kavovit runs DIYva, an on-the-go bag business, and fans might remember her from Season 9 when she had an off-camera conversation with Radziwill about de Lesseps’ then-fiancé Tom D’Agostino. In the episode, which aired in May 2017, fans couldn’t see Kavovit, but they could hear her talking because Radziwill’s mic picked up her voice. She talked about her friend’s determination to get married and said: “I think she has something to prove.”
At the time, everyone was trying to talk de Lesseps out of marrying D’Agostino because he was clearly not the guy for her, but it didn’t work. De Lesseps and D’Agostino ended up getting married, but it lasted only eight months before they filed for divorce.
I am so happy if the rumours are true and Barbara Kavovit joined the cast. Just from seeing her on Luann's social media, I have a feeling she's going to be unintentionally (funny) messy. I don't expect her to fight though. #RHONY

Kavovit said that she thought her friend would rather go through with the wedding and get divorced instead of calling it off.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Kavovit tried to prevent Bravo from airing the audio of her conversation with Radziwill. It didn’t happen, but Kavovit’s comments didn’t seem to negatively affect her friendship with de Lesseps. Cameras caught the two women hanging out together just a few weeks ago.
De Lesseps has struggled with her sobriety since her arrest last December, and some have also made hurtful claims about her recovery. So, it should be good for her to have another ally on the show. But, it isn’t clear if Kavovit will be a full-time cast member or just a friend, and Bravo has yet to confirm her status.

There have been rumors that Jill Zarin could possibly be returning next season, but she has said that she is not interested in returning to the cast full-time. However, she would consider appearing on the show as a friend.
As for Carole Radziwill, she left so she could focus on what she does best — journalism and producing. But, we can’t help but think that the end of her friendship with Bethenny Frankel had something to do with her decision to leave the popular reality show.
New episodes of Real Housewives of New York City will return to Bravo in the spring of 2019.
