The legal battle between Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge and former star Alexis Bellino’s husband Jim is heating up. Judge has fired back in the defamation lawsuit that Jim Bellino filed against her, and she claims that the First Amendment protects the comments she made about his “shady past.”
Jim filed a $1 million lawsuit against Judge and Shannon Beador after they appeared on a podcast and made comments about his divorce from Alexis. In Judge’s response earlier this week, she claimed that calling Jim a “shady motherf****r” is true, and saying he had a shady past was fact.
“Judge’s statements regarding spousal support and the plaintiff being “shady” cannot support a defamation cause of action because it is true,” the court documents alleged.

The documents also stated that Judge’s statements are not actionable because they are true, and then provided a list of examples. The court filing points out that Jim requested spousal support in his divorce papers, which are available to the public.
They also defined “shady” as being “of doubtful honesty or legality.” Then, the documents described the deal that Jim made with the government to get probation after the FBI investigated him for selling counterfeit sports memorabilia. Judge also pointed out that Jim faced a lawsuit for fraud, deceit, wrongful foreclosure, and breach of written contracts when his company foreclosed on a hotel property.
Jim was also facing foreclosure on his home because he was behind on his payments, but then he turned around and bought a more expensive home a few months later. He also didn’t pay an interior designer that he hired, and that ended up with legal action. Judge’s court documents claimed that all of these examples show Jim’s “shady” behavior.
Beador did not respond to Jim’s lawsuit, but he still ripped both her and Judge in a statement to Radar Online.

“Tamra has slandered and defamed many people … this time she messed with the wrong person!! Shannon has severely lied about my business which affects my ability to support my family,” Jim said.
He added that in Judge and Shannon Beador’s responses, neither of them actually addressed the “true damaging statements” that they made, and it is time that someone puts a stop to their malicious attacks.
In her court response, Tamra Judge did ask for the court to dismiss the lawsuit. The next court date is October 18th.
