Now that Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson has set up Kelly Dodd’s soon-to-be ex-husband Michael with one of her friends, she can finally add the title of matchmaker to her resume. The pair reportedly hit it off and are having fun and enjoying the new relationship, so will they make an appearance on the new season of RHOC?
Page Six is reporting that Gunvalson set up Michael with her friend – who was once friends with Kelly – back in December, and it all started during a trip with her pal to Las Vegas.
“[Vicki] FaceTimed with her boyfriend Steve [Lodge]. He and Michael are really good friends, and Michael was with him, so they waved ‘hi.’ Michael said he was having a rough time, and the women said they felt awful,” reveals an insider.
Not long after, Gunvalson had a dinner party and invited both Michael and her friend. The two instantly bonded over past bad relationships and she soon became his new girlfriend.
However, Michael’s new lady doesn’t want anything to do with the divorce going on between him and Kelly and wants to be extremely careful while having fun.
So, she has no plans to appear in the upcoming season of RHOC and has already turned down an opportunity to join the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The couple hasn’t gone public with their relationship yet, and an insider says that Kelly doesn’t know Michael has started dating again, but Gunvalson did tell Bravo about Michael’s new love.
Kelly announced her split from Michael back in September, and she filed documents to continue their 2012 divorce in December. Insiders claim that Michael was giving her hell at the time, but others say that he isn’t as bad as he comes off on the show. He is a great dad and working on two start-ups. He is a gentleman, a brilliant guy, and not the house-husband that Kelly tried to portray him to be.
Still, the divorce is reportedly becoming nasty, with Michael fighting for full custody of the couple’s daughter, Jolie.
During last season’s reunion, Kelly revealed that she and her ex started fighting all the time, and Michael was good one minute, and the next he wasn’t.
She added that she couldn’t bring friends over, he was jealous and always wanted her to himself.
She also said that the split is sad because she has been with Michael most of her life and they have a child together, so it’s hard to see it all go.
As for Gunvalson, her relationship with Lodge is still going strong, and they are still experiencing romantic firsts. The OG of the OC has been gushing on social media recently about her man with posts of the two jetting off to Puerto Vallarta for some fun in the sun. But, it’s also the little things that make her happy.
She recently shared that while she was rushing to get to work on time, Lodge handed her a bag to take with her, filled with lunch that he had made. Gunvalson says it’s the little things that show how much he loves her.
Catch Vicki Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd when new episodes of the Real Housewives of Orange County return to Bravo later this year.
